Basics of Reining
with World Champion Craig Johnson
Whether you're a trail rider, competitor,
horse trainer, or natural horsemanship enthusiast, we've got you covered!
Craig Johnson introduces first level concepts of reining that will increase your horsemanship skills and step up the performance of your horse, no matter the breed or riding discipline.
During the Basics of Reining clinic, Craig delivers 20+ years of experience and knowledge to help you achieve your greatest riding potential. Craig has assembled an absolutely fabulous foundation program that revolves around 7 key reining fundamentals. Each will be explained, demonstrated and practiced during these events.
Many horsemanship students have found an interest in Craig because of the "like" approach he has to other trainers who consider the natural ways of the horse when training for success. While not necessarily on the same page in approach, definitely on the same page with intention and end result.

"I cannot
believe the increased confidence and excitement I have after riding with
Craig. After attending his clinic, I felt as if I were launched into a new
life with answers already in hand. He made it so simple. It definitely stepped
up my savvy! Thanks Craig!" - Mandy Daley, VA
Taking "reining" from an event to a set of principles that easily pertain to any show ring or recreational outlet, Craig Johnson reveals how horses become willingly guided with little or no resistance. During the Basics and Advancing clinics you will learn how to encourage your horse to stay focused and thinking during a riding or training session.
By introducing the "art of reining" and applying the basic techniques, you can realize results of softness, smoothness of gait, and increased responsiveness from your horse. Craig's reining techniques will improve your performance no matter your riding discipline or horsemanship interests.
